We spotted this beautiful, very calm room tour over at little.lovely blog by super mum Khali Whatley. The room is designed by Sissy + Marley, a New York City-based boutique baby planner. Khali details that Sissy + Marley were engaged to produce a nursery that was modern, fresh, eco-friendly and polished for Gabriel, who was in his mother’s tummy when the nursery was designed. Some of our favourite things are the wall paper and ceiling finishes, the selection of classic toys and furniture which will last well beyond the baby and toddler years. You can find all the details of this room tour here.

Baby A’s nursery is a mixture of old and new, revamped and up cycled as well as new pieces found just for her. As we didn’t know if she was a girl or boy we started with black, white and grey as the base and the dusty pink came after she was born. The cot and change table are hand me downs from her brothers, the cupboard was found in a once-in-a-lifetime chuck-out day in Sydney several years ago, and painted white. We also added shelves and hanging racks inside to suit baby sized clothes and paraphernalia. The cute and kid-friendly Babushka toy box is Mor Stor from Little Living.

About the room…

Baby A isn’t quite up to playing dolls yet so we use a little dolls bed to house some of her books for now.

We store her beads and clips in a small glass vase, which makes it quick and easy to see what’s what.

I framed a card from a special friend received when baby A was born. It says “Lovely little mini person”. And that she is.

I put a small clear 3M hook under the decal on the wall and change the clothes when I want to add some more colour in the room. Little Living has divine Love Mae fabric tree stickers similar to this, if you like this idea.

The lace is a close up of a Christening gown which was gifted to baby A from her great Grandmother. It is hand made and has been worn by 5 generations of babies including baby A!

We’ll pop up a “get the look” in the shop so you can see some of the smaller things we love and where they are from.

This room tour caught our eye today – it features our popular Leander cot/toddler bed. Jasper is one lucky little guy and it’s no wonder he has such a stylish room – his Mum writes the blog Urban Kaleidoscope which features stories and some stunning images from her travels and interior decorating endeavours.
